Matt. 14:25-29 NKJV
on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. It went like this: Peter prayed, and waited for an answer. Jesus called him. Peter stepped out with authority over the law of gravity. Why was he given that authority? Because it was necessary in order for him to accomplish walking on water. When God says, "Come" we are immediately empowered to accomplish all things that He has commanded us to do. However, it works the other way as well. We can't accomplish our purpose until God says, "Come". If we get ahead of God and try to work things out on our own, we will fail. We will feel overwhelmed, and will begin to doubt if our vision is really from God. Then we will most likely give up. What would happen if someone tried to walk on water, right now? My guess is that they would sink. Why? Because unless God calls that person to walk on water, they shouldn't expect to. Peter couldn't do it on His own. Jesus had to call him first. It is only when God has given us His personal stamp of approval that all things become possible. That is why Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The equation doesn't work without Christ. We would be wasting our time trying. So if God has given you a vision, the best thing to do is wait on God's timing to bring it to pass. Because when God says, "Come" we will be empowered to accomplish all things, whatever all things include that will help us achieve our purpose...even walking on water! I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray Please pray for our troops overseas! |
