*All scripture is from the New King James Version. Today is the last Wednesday in the year 2004. By the end of the week, Lord-willing, we will begin a brand new year. One with new hopes, dreams, possibilities and disappointments. I thought that this would be a good time to consider the One who will help us accomplish our goals and all that He has for us. Here is some encouragement for the new year. Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Ecc 8:4-5 4 Where the word of a king is, there is power; and who may say to him, "What are you doing?" 5 He who keeps his command will experience nothing harmful; and a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment. Ps 27:4-5 4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. Deut 8:3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Ps 94:21-23 21 They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. 22 But the Lord has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge. 23 He has brought on them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; the Lord our God shall cut them off. the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall Ps 18:2-3 2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. Jn 14:1, 6 1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Ps 91:1, 4, 7, 11-13 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 4 He SHALL cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you SHALL take refuge; His truth SHALL be your shield and buckler. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it SHALL NOT come near you. 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Jn 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday and a Happy New Year! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray |
