Today's Topic is What to Do When Under Serious Attack
*All bible scripture references are from the New King James Version.

    1.  Go to God first.

Is 38:1-2, 4-5  1  In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death.  And Isaiah the prophet, the
son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, "Thus says the Lord: 'Set your house in order, for
you shall die and not live.'  2  Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the
Lord.  4  And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, 5  "Go and tell Hezekiah, "Thus says
the Lord, the God of David your father:  I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely
I will add to your days fifteen years."

    2.  Seek godly counsel.

Ps 33:10-11  10  The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of
the people of no effect.  11  The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all
    generations.

    3.  Stand firm in the midst of harsh criticism.

Neh 6:2-4  2  That Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, "Come, let us meet together
among the villages in the plain of Ono."  But they thought to do me harm.  3  So I sent
messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down.  Why
should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?"  4  But they sent me this message
four times, and I answered them in the same manner.

Ps 27:2  When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they
    stumbled and fell.

    4.  Take all the facts to God.

    2 Kings 19:14  And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it;
and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.

    5.  Recognize who God is!

Is 37:16  O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwell between the cherubim, You are God,
You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth.  You have made heaven and earth.

    6.  Trust God to do what is right.

Job 38:1-6  1  Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:  2  "Who is this who
darkens counsel by words without knowledge?  3  Now prepare yourself like a man; I will
question you, and you shall answer Me.  4  Where were you when I laid the foundations of the
earth?  Tell Me, if you have understanding.  5  Who determined its measurements?  Surely you
know!  Or who stretched the line upon it?  6  To what were its foundations fastened?  Or who
    laid its cornerstone?

Ps 40:5  Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your
thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them,
they are more than can be numbered.

    7.  Watch Him work!

Prov 23:26  My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

Ps 107:42-43  42  The righteous see it and rejoice, and all initquity stops its mouth.  43  Whoever
is wise will observe these things, and they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Ps 33:8-9  8  Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of
Him.  9   For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
