Make God Proud Part 2 Oct. 5, 2005 |

Today's Topic is Make God Proud (Part 2) Isaiah 42:5-8 NKJV 5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: 6 " I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness,
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, 7 To open blind eyes,
Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. 8 I am the LORD, that is My name;
Nor My praise to carved images. Last week, we talked about the characteristics of a servant that pleases God. Now let's talk about the call that God has placed upon His servants. We are called to be a light in a world of darkness. God has placed His light (His righteousness and holiness) within us so that we may lead others away from destruction. Think back to what it was like being a child in a dark haunted house. Lights flickering and scary things jumping out from every corner. Monsters grabbing at you and trying to hold you back. People screaming, laughing, howling, and crying. The only comfort is the hand holding on to you, even though you can't quite see whose hand it is. Your only goal is to head for the light and get as far away from the darkness as possible. Finally, you break through the doors at the end of the maze and a bright light shines upon your face covering you with Peace. There are so many people around us who are still living in that haunted house and it is our job to lead them out. We need to stay humble and give God the glory at all times for all He has done. If we show them the way out of darkness by reflecting Christ in our attitudes and behaviors then eventually, they will feel the comfort of God's hand leading them to safety and God will use the light He's placed in us to lead them directly to Him. God wants us to open blind eyes (spiritually and naturally). Loose the chains from those bound by depression, sickness, drugs, alcohol, poverty, and ignorance. Blow open the prison doors of grief, bitterness, unforgiveness, and jealousy and bring its victims to Him. The good news is that we can do all these things because God has promised to hold our hand. The One who created the heavens and formed the earth has promised to keep us. Without Him, we are nothing, but with Him nothing is impossible. Today, let's make God proud! I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis.
