Witness or Witness Protection Aug. 17, 2005 |
Before Jesus ascended into heaven he charged the disciples with the task of preaching the gospel to every creature. Jesus knew that they would not be able to accomplish this task within their lifetimes so this responsibility has been passed on to us. We are to be a witness for Christ wherever we go in whatever we do. We can be witnesses through our actions as well as by what we say. But we have to stop being afraid. The witness protection program was developed for those who have seen or heard something that could cause someone else to potentially want to harm them to keep them quiet. The world wants to keep us quiet, but we shouldn't hide and keep our heads down because we don't want to be recognized as Christians. Some of us are changing our entire image and identity when we are in the presence of nonbelievers. Don't be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Decide today to be a witness rather than under witness protection. Mark 16:15 NKJV And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
