Proverbs 23:4-5 NKJV 4 Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease! 5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. Imagine walking on a treadmill. This describes the way that some people are living their lives. They appear to be making huge strides in life but actually they're going nowhere. They busy themselves with tasks that seem important at the time but have no real eternal value. Soon, life passes them by and they are standing before the Throne of God with great shame and regret. This is what Jesus was talking about in the conversation below: Luke 10:41-42 NKJV 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Mary knew that Jesus was more important than anything else in her life. She proved it by dropping everything so that she could sit at His feet and listen to His words of wisdom. We need to follow that example. We need to make Jesus a priority in our lives every day. Set aside a time to drop everything and give Him the attention due Him. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis.
