A Suffocating Silence
Nov. 16, 2005
Today's Topic is A Suffocating Silence

Ecc. 4:9-12 NKJV  9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.  But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for
he has no one to help him up.  11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;  but how
can one be warm alone?  12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand
him.  And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

So many of us prefer to suffer in silence when we are going through tough times.  We allow our pride to
keep us from telling others about the mishaps in our lives.  We tell ourselves, "It's none of their business"
or "I can handle this myself", and those things may be true but what are the effects of keeping quiet?

When the situation grows worse, we are left alone in our beds at night worrying, crying, and being
defeated by the devil's accusations.  We feel ashamed yet our pride still keeps us silent.  Our silence
has opened up an entire playroom for the devil in our minds.   After a while, praying about the problem
even seems foolish.  We are slowly being suffocated because we won't open our mouths and cry out for
    help.

The devil knows that as long as he keeps us quiet, he can do whatever he wants for as long as he
wants.  But when we open our mouths and join together with other believers, he runs like crazy because
he knows that he has been exposed.  He only has a hold when we're alone.  He knows that one can put a
thousand to flight and he figures that he can afford that but two can put TEN THOUSAND-he's not stupid,
he's going to find the fastest way out of that place.

Deut. 32:30-31 NKJV   30How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight,
except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?  31For their rock is not as
our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

So break his suffocating grip.  Open your mouth!  You will find that others have been there too.  If you are
suffering from any sort of temptations, battling illness or depression, suicidal, need help financially or you
are just weak from the test and trials of life-please don't stay silent.  There is power in unity.  Your
brothers and sisters in Christ love you and together we can make it through!

Matt. 18:19-20 NKJV  19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning
anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or
three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
