Backtracking
Oct. 11, 2006

    Today's Topic is Backtracking

Psalm 119:133 NKJV  Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.

One way to avoid backtracking is to seek God first for instruction in all situations.  We can do this by
taking everything to God in prayer and by studying the Bible.

Praying requires us to talk things through with the Lord before making any irrational or hasty decisions.  It
gives us an opportunity to lay everything out on the table and look at it from God's point of view.  Handling
situations in this manner is highly recommended and effective in reducing the amount of regretful
    choices we make.

Studying the Word of God is also an excellent solution to any problem.  The Bible is filled with an
innumerable amount of biographies and parables of people who suffered from similar circumstances
(and if not similar, than at least synonymous).  We can apply the advice that God gave to these people to
our own situations so that we can avoid going down a path that may lead to destruction.

So praying and meditating on the Word of God are both ways to seek God first for instruction.  God has
always promised to be a light unto our paths, so He is the best person to go to whenever we want to
keep ourselves from a regretful life of backtracking.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Pastor Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray
