Matt. 22:14 NKJV “For many are called, but few are chosen.”
make notes about which candidates they would like to see again in a follow-up audition and the most favorable receive a callback. This helps them to narrow their search. Each time, the judges will compare different aspects of the contenders and they will become more and more critical in each audition. They do this to establish the best candidate for the position that they are trying to fill and they will usually choose the one who is the most equipped to play the role. God also uses this process when He is choosing someone for a trial. Many are called but few are chosen to experience particular trials. For example, God had to know who the best person would be to lay in a lion's den all night (Daniel). God had to choose carefully the person that would be sold into slavery by his brothers (Joseph). God especially had to look high and low for the best candidate that could handle losing all of his children and every material possession that he had worked his whole life to achieve (Job). And let's not forget the ones who had to face the fiery furnace (Hebrew Boys) and the prophet who had to endure being married to a harlot (Hosea). These are not easy trials to face and God had to know exactly which ones would not break under the pressure and which ones would not turn bitter or suicidal. God had to choose carefully and He does the same today. He allows us to go through hard trials but not before carefully choosing which ones we can handle going through. He promised that He would not put more on us than we could bare and He will be faithful to keep His promise. So many may be called but God has chosen each of us for the trial that we are in. Let's do our best to make Him proud. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Pastor Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray |
