Not Yet

    Today's Topic is Not Yet

Gen. 16:8-9 NKJV  8 And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where
are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.”  9 The Angel
of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.”

    Gen. 21:14 NKJV So Abraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water;
and putting it on her shoulder, he gave it and the boy to Hagar, and sent her away. Then she
departed and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.

What happened?!  First, God tells her to go back, only for her to have to leave again five chapters later!
    Why would God do that?

God told Hagar to go back to her mistress and submit to her because it was not yet time for her to
leave.  There was an appointed time for her to leave, but that time had not yet come so she had to go
    back.

Often times, we think that we know what is best for us and when we get tired of a situation we think that
the best thing for us to do is to pack up and leave.  But sometimes that is not the right answer.
Sometimes, God will have us go back because it is not yet time for us to go.  There may still be some
things that we have to learn to endure or some people that He may send across our pathway if we would
just wait a little while longer.

God sees our afflictions.  He feels our discomfort and agony.  He's heard all of the rumors and He
understands our anger.  Yes, we are hurt.  Yes, we are tired.  And yes, we are frustrated.  But His plan is
perfect.  So if God is saying "Not yet," we must trust Him because He knows what's best.  He has an
appointed time to bring us out of our situation, and if we would just wait on Him, our time will come.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
