Gal. 3:20-22 NKJV 20 Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
be in Heaven. But being good is not good enough. God looks beyond that. He looks for a special seal like a stamp on the hand that shows that the price for our entry has been paid. It is a seal that only He can see and it has been purchased by the blood of His son, Jesus Christ. Please don't misunderstand; being good is great because we are instructed in 2 Tim. 2:19 to depart from iniquity. We are to do our best to strive for righteousness because we are to be holy as the Lord our God is holy (Lev. 11:44-45). But God knows that our flesh is weak (Matt. 26:41), and that we cannot obtain such a high goal on our own. So God made a way for us to make it into His holy city despite our shortcomings and that is by believing in the death, burial and resurrection of His Son Jesus. Therefore, being good is not good enough. Because if our version of being good was anything close to the measure of God's holiness then we would have never needed a Savior in the first place (Rom. 8:3). So no matter how good we think that we are, we will still fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23), and if we don't receive the stamp of the blood of Jesus Christ, we will one day find ourselves on the outside of Heaven's gates. So it would be wise not to leave the decision of our final destination in the hands of chance, wondering rather or not we've gained enough points for entry. Instead, we should seal it today by accepting the only true way that guarantees entry into Heaven: God's Son, Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6). I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.
