False Teaching
Nov. 28, 2007
    Today's Topic is False Teaching

2 Tim 1:7 NKJV  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

A dangerous teaching going around in today's age is that everyone is already saved.  These people
believe that since Christ died for our sins we are already saved regardless if we believe in Christ or not.
While Christ did die for our sins we still have to accept and confess with our mouth and believe in our
heart in order to receive His salvation.

It is true that we cannot add any work to what Christ has already done.  We cannot lose our salvation,
and we cannot get saved by our good works.  (John 10:27-30) Salvation is not what we can do for Christ
but what Christ has done for us.  The people who believe that we are already saved because of Christ's
death forgot that we still have to accept Him into our hearts and our lives, and believe that God raised
    him from the dead.

God's plan of salvation is not difficult to understand.  Confess with your mouth, believe in your heart that
God raised Jesus from the dead and you will be saved.  If there was no need to do that, God would not
have put it in His word.  It's there because that is what one needs to do to be saved.  Anything else is
heresy and needs to be dismissed.

John 14:6 NKJV Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the
    Father except through me."

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
