Finding Peace
Oct. 17, 2007

    Today's Topic is Finding Peace

Phil 4:6-7 NKJV  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God has given us his peace which goes far beyond human understanding.  However, we often make the
mistake of laying down our peace to things God never intended us to lay them down for.

No one can steal our peace.  When we surrender our peace to a person or a job or even to life itself, we
surrender it by choice.  The peace that comes from God is not shaken when things go wrong.  It is not
alarmed by mishaps, but instead it is calm and cool, because of who's in control.

Our mindset determines our peace.  That is why Paul tells us to mediate on things that are true and
trustworthy.  When we focus on God and the things of God, he will bless us with an unshakable peace.

Here are some steps to meditate on throughout the following week.

    1. Take all your worries to God in prayer.

    2. Give thanks for everything.  (God will work it out for those who believe, so he can be thanked in
    advance.)

    3.  Focus on the things of God.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Minister Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray
