Without Form and Void
Jan. 10, 2007
Today's Topic is Without Form and Void

Gen. 1:2 NKJV  The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

In Gen. 1:1-5, we learn that the earth was once without form or void.  But then one day, God spoke and
the earth was never the same again. Wow, that's amazing!

Wanna know something else about that scripture? How about that the very same words that are used to
describe the status of the earth could also be used to describe us before the Lord spoke into our lives.  It
lays out the way that God feels about us and how He has changed our lives.

In the beginning we were also without form and void and darkness was indeed covering us.  But the
whole time God hovered over us, watching us.  He had a plan for our lives and He was not going to stand
by and watch darkness destroy us.

So God spoke into our lives and said, “Let there be light!”  And the Holy Spirit came and filled us with His
light, and God said, “It was good”.

So then what happens?  Now that we have been filled with His light, the Lord begins to separate us from
darkness.  He starts to pull out the things that draw us to darkness and He makes the characteristics of
the light within us our prominent trademarks.  He desires us to be as different and as set apart from
those who are wicked as day is from night.  And that is the process that we are still in.

But there are some of us who haven't even begun this process yet.  Some of us are still without form and
void and God is still hovering over us, waiting for an opportunity to speak into our lives.  If that is you,
open your heart to God today and allow Him to fill you with His light.  Once He does, you will be so glad
    you did.

All the time you hear people talk about how empty they feel inside, but once you allow God to fill you, your
life will finally begin to take form and you will no longer feel that void.  And the best part is that when you
stand before the King of Kings in the end you will hear the most precious words one could ever hear.
God will come to you and He will say, “It is good”.  And He will be pleased with you.

So turn your life over to God today and allow Him to form you and fill your void.  There is none other who
can do it.  He alone is the one you've been waiting for.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
