| It's Time to Ignite Jan. 3, 2007 |

Eph. 5:8 NKJV For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
vary from constructive to destructive rather easily requiring little to no effort at all. We can be ignited for a good cause as well as a bad. And the most important comparison of all is that we can be of no use unless we are first ignited. Everyone knows that the purpose of a match is to spark a fire, but knowing the purpose for which we were sent and accomplishing it are two different things. Just like a match, we contain a lot of power when we are used separately but we can get a lot more accomplished when used in unison with other matches. Matches come in different lengths so some can burn out quicker than others, but it all depends on what God has intended to use us for. If we stay in His will and are used only for His purposes then we should never burn out. God knows exactly how often and when to use us, so if our match is burning down too quickly then we need to reevaluate the things that we are being ignited for and consider the possibility that we have allowed ourselves, our gifts and our abilities to be used by someone other than God. And if we realize that is the case, then we need to repent and ask God to help us turn away from those things. When we are being ignited by God's Holy Spirit, we can provide the whole world with light in this time of darkness and we can illuminate their path so they can run directly to God without henderance or obstacle. We can also be used to provide comfort for those around us who are in need of warmth and compassion and we can prepare food both spiritual and physical food for those who are hungry. The world is so desperately in need of the saints of God to rise up and produce light in this time of darkness, and there is no end to what God can do when we allow Him to ignite us. We will be surprised at the difference one match can make when it is held in the hands of God. So let us make that our New Year's resolution because it is certainly time for us to ignite. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Pastor Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray |
