life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. Some people say that they don't like to read the Bible because they think that it is confusing or hard to understand. Although their feelings are shared by many and their concerns are not completely unfounded they shouldn't knock it because they don't understand it. Instead, they should look for other versions that make it easier and more enjoyable for them to read. Now admittedly, there are some parts of the Bible that take more effort to understand than others, but there is one thing that God makes abundantly clear for everyone to understand. And that one point is that He sent His son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins that we may have eternal life. Even children can understand the verses that are so commonly quoted from John 3:16 KJV, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God wrote this message so many times throughout the scriptures in so many different ways that it is virtually impossible to ignore. For example, take a look at 1 Jn 5:10-13. The New Living Translation states: All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about His Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (Period) I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. Can it get any plainer than that? If you believe in the name of the Son of God then you will have eternal life. If you do not believe in the Son of God then you are calling God a liar and will not have eternal life. Simple. Either you believe or you don't. Do you dare to call God a liar or do you believe His Word is true? The Bible makes it plain the choice that we have to make; the rest is up to you. No matter what version you read, the choice is still the same. Do you believe in Jesus and will you call on His Name? I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.
