What Can Separate Us?
Feb. 14, 2007
Today's Topic is What Can Separate Us?

Rom. 8:35 NKJV  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

In Romans 8, Paul asks the question "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?"  What an
    interesting question.

We should take the time to ask ourselves this question and really ponder our answer, but let's phrase it a
little differently.  What will we allow to separate us from the love of Christ?  What will we let get in the way
    of our relationship with Him?

Will we allow trials and tribulation to pull us away from serving our Lord?  What about worry or conflict or
disease?  Are our money problems enough to make us walk away from the One who loves us more than
life itself?  Will we allow the death of a loved one to create a barrier between us and the love Christ has
for us?  Does our guilt over past sins keep us from receiving God's abundant love?

The correct answer to these questions should be no.  We should not let anything come between us and
the love that God has for us.  But if for some reason we find that we have a different answer, then we
need to explore the reason behind that.  Because if we allow God's love to penetrate us, we can be more
than conquerors over all of the things listed above.

There is no reason that we should be without God's love.  God has not let anything come between His
love for us, not even our sin.  But we are the ones standing in the way.  We have to remove all barriers
that are keeping us from receiving His love, and once we do that then we can stand boldly and firmly on
the belief that nothing shall ever again separate us from the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
