Today's Topic is Sunny Days

Psalm 42:11 KJV  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

It's easy to praise God when the sky is blue and our life is full of sunshine, but what about those times
when we are experiencing dark forecasts?  Why do we praise Him then, and how should we praise Him
    then?

There are several reasons why we should continue to praise God during the dark times.  One because
whether or not our stomach hurts, whether or not we have money in the bank, and whether or not our
marriages are on shaky ground-God loves us and sent His son to save us from ourselves and eternal
    damnation.

Another good reason to praise God is because His promises remain true no matter what.  He is not a
man that He should lie.  There is no darkness in God, only light.  He is the beginning and the end.  As
long as the conditions fit the promise, He will guarantee the outcome to be exactly what the Bible says it
    will be.

So how do we praise God when everything around us looks bleak?  We command our spirits to rise up
just like David did in many of his psalms.  Whenever he started to feel down, he would remind himself of
just how good God has been to him.  And then after a while, he put aside his hurt, anger, worry,
disappoint or whatever else he was feeling and he would praise God for being a God who never
changes.  He would praise God for His consistency and faithfulness.  He would praise God for his
deliverance and favor in the past which gave him faith to believe that He would do it for him (David)
    again in the future.

We can do this too!  Every stormy day is eventually followed by a sunny one.  We just have to hold on and
    believe God's promises.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
