Maturity

    Today's Topic is Maturity

Matt. 8:7-8 NKJV  7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”  8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not
worthy that You should come under my roof.  But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

Just one word is all the centurion requested from Jesus.  Just one word.  He had that much faith in the unfailing power of our Lord
that he only needed Him to speak it and he knew it would be so.

Now that is maturity.  Most of us would have taken Jesus up on His offer to come to the house to heal our ailing servant.  We would
have expected nothing less than a long, drawn out ceremony with lots of singing and praying.  We would then escort Jesus to the
front and pray for a miracle with one eye open so that we could watch and see if anything was happening.

But not this man!  This man was used to giving orders.  This man was used to people doing exactly what he told them to do, exactly
the way that he told them to do it.  He had no doubt that if the people under his command would move like that for him, then how
much more would everything under God's command move instantly at the sound of Him.

Everything in Heaven and Earth is subject to the voice of God.  One word from Him can cause even peace to be still!  Who knew that
peace was even moving?  Well, it's not anymore, because God never told it to move again.  Peace is still being still.  He didn't have
to repeat Himself and never in scripture do we hear of Jesus telling peace to be still a second time.  That's because one word from
Jesus is all it will ever take to get a situation right, and only a mature Christian can trust that when God speaks a word, there is
nothing else that needs to be said or done.  It is finished.  So if you need God to speak in your life today, ask Him and then walk in
maturity knowing that it is already done.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Minister Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
