As a Little Child
Apr. 6, 2005

Today's Topic is As a Little Child

Mark 10:14-16 NKJV  14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them,
"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15
Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no
means enter it." 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

What are some characteristics of little children?

Dependent, and not afraid to ask for help, or to cry
    Trusting & Loyal
    Loving
    In need of discipline/correction
Teachable & Thirsty for knowledge (curious)
    Intent on studying their surroundings
In need of guidance and protection
Good at recognizing their limitations or need for help
    Models of their parents actions
Unafraid to do something outside of the box
    Helpful
    Hopeful/optimistic
Joyous and know how to enjoy life
Carefree (not worried about tomorrow) and are never rushed

This is the way that God wants us to be with Him.  He wants us to come to Him, crawl into His lap, and let
Him stroke our hair as we mope and cry about what so-and-so did to us.  He wants us to get excited
over the little things in life.  And He loves it when we adoringly look into His eyes and tell Him that we
want to be just like Him when we grow up!  What better way to honor our Father?

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
