Cleaning House

    Today's Topic is Cleaning House

While walking into my living room one evening, I noticed a large dark spot on one of the walls.  As I came
closer, I realized that it was a HUGE, hard-shelled bug.  Perplexed, I ran for the bug spray!  When I
returned, I aimed for the invader (with one-eye open).

I missed!  And worst yet, it fell from the wall and disappeared!  So then, I considered moving out, but first,
I tore apart the living room in search of this unwelcome guest.  Although, I knew that I would totally freak
    out if I found it.

The fact is, I never found it.  I don’t know where it ran off too.  I was advised to bomb the house about
    every 21 days.

So, why am I telling this story?   Because, Satan is a lot like that bug.  First, he feels around to see how
far he can get.  And, if he finds a door left open, he will run right in.  Then, he invades our hearts looking
for a place to nest.  Once he finds it, he lays eggs (i.e. fear, lust, greed, bitterness and other temptations)
and multiplies, infesting the entire heart.  Where there is one, there is usually another.
The only way to stop this process is to invite Jesus in.  Jesus will spray the heart with pesticides like
honesty, love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, and more.  He will destroy all that is not like
Him.  Jesus will leave the light on at all times, and clean out the cluttered, dark spaces.

All we have to do is allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts.  When we identify a “bug” on the wall of our
hearts, we must act quickly and consistently.  Repent (bomb), daily, and continually communicate with the
Father.  Make it clear to Satan that there is no room for him.  In doing this, I am confident that just like the
bug, the devil will scurry through the door to await a more opportune time.  Let’s exterminate!

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
