Who Do You Say I Am?
Jan. 19, 2005

Today's Topic is Who Do You Say I Am?

    The Lord asks,
    Am I a Healer?

                How do you know?

    Am I a Comforter?

                How do you know?

    Am I a Friend?

               How do you know?

    Am I a Father?

              How do you know?

    Am I a Provider, a Judge, a Hiding Place, and a Way-maker?

Again, I ask you, how do you know?

What is the difference between reading about a car accident and being in one?  Experience.
Experience makes all the difference.  The trials that we go through give us the experience to answer
these questions without hesitation.  The reason we know that God is all these things to us is because He
has proved Himself to us over and over again.

Sure, we can read about all that He has done for others, but then what would our answer be if He asked,
"Who do you say that I am?"  Peter had an answer when all the other disciples could only repeat what
they had heard from other people.

So get closer to God.  Think of all the experiences that you have had with Him and be grateful.  Hang
them up like "certificates of completion" on the walls of your heart!  It is because of them that you can say
"Thou are the Christ!  The Son of the true Living God!"

Luke 9:20 NKJV He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"  Peter answered and said,
    "The Christ of God."

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
