Lam 1:20 NKJV “See, O LORD, that I am in distress; My soul is troubled; My heart is overturned within me, For I have been very rebellious. Outside the sword bereaves, At home it is like death." Jer 23:23-24 NKJV “Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD, "And not a God afar off? 24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the LORD; When it comes to our spiritual vision, we are all considered to be nearsighted. We look at our present situations and just like the author of Lamentations, we have a hard time seeing past the pain that is right in front of us. We start to dwell on everything that is wrong in our lives and how bad we feel. We begin to nod our head in agreement to the lies that the enemy tells. And soon, we find ourselves wrapped up in despair and become a pitiable victim of nearsightedness. We want God to see us but when will we make the effort to see Him? In Jeremiah 23, God says that He is a God who is near and can see us right where we are at this very moment. But can we see him? If he is near then we should be able to see him right? So look around and look closer. See God, not the situation. See God, not the pain. See God, not the insufficient funds. See God, not the mundane. God is near. We just have to make the effort to see him. Our spiritual vision can be corrected if we start to look for God in the every day things. So practice-when the wind blows say, "Thank you Lord for sending a breeze to let me know that you are near." When the sun shines say, "Thank you, Lord for shining your light on me to let me know that you are near and you see me." If we keep doing this then eventually we will get so used to seeing Him that it will be no problem spotting Him when times get hard and we will finally be able to see beyond what is right in front us. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Minister Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray |
